Junior Apprentices
Rebecca Brill Weitz

Rebecca Brill Weitz has been dancing for as long as she can remember, starting in her kitchen and graduating to Li'l Ballerinas when she was three. Since then she has danced at Summer Stages, Joffrey NYC, and Dance Prism. For five years, she competed with the Sally Gould Dance Co. She now dances at Jose Matteo Ballet Theater. Rebecca currently teaches preschool and primary division classes at DanceTime in Bedford and will be graduating from Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School in 2013. A life long homeschooler, Rebecca is a junior in high school and an honors student at Middlesex Community College, planning to graduate in 2014. Rebecca is also passionate about photography and acting.
Kendall Bush

Kendall Bush is a 15 year old high school student who starting dance classes at age 3. Kendall became more serious about dance when she entered the Dance Technique Program at The Dance Inn at the age of 10. From here she progressed into Legacy Dance Company, a pre-professional dance company also out of The Dance Inn. Kendall was captain of her Legacy Team, which focused on a variety of dance styles. Kendall has danced along side of Static Noyze in Hip Hop shows, taken master classes from Jump Rhythm Jazz Project of Chicago, Sarah- Kay Jerome of Static Noyze, and tap classes from Barbara Duffy. During this time Kendall became more interested in Modern, Contemporary, and Ballet. She took additional classes in ballet and Pointe at the Paige Conservatory in North Andover. While here she also began coursework in the Horton method with Jennifer Cote. Kendall continues her modern, ballet, and Pointe work with private lessons from Jennifer Cote. She also works on ballet, Pointe, and stretching with Deanna Richardson Carpinteri of J and D Dance in Reading, MA. Finally, Kendall is now a member of Acton School of Ballet where she will dance throughout the regular dance season.
Haylee Denham

Haylee Denham is a freshman in all honors classes at Lynn English High School in Lynn, MA. She has danced at North Shore Dance Academy in Danvers, MA since the age of three and been a member of its intensive team since 2004. She has experience in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Pointe. Conventions and competitions she has attended in the New England area include: Shock, Excel, New York City Dance Alliance, New England Dance Festival, American Dance Awards, Dance Ovations and Star Systems - and has won annual convention scholarships with West Coast Dance Explosion and Pulse whilst placing top ten at the Eastern Dance Awards.
Julia Lane

Julia Lane is a fourteen year old freshman who has been dancing for eleven
years and currently attends Wachusett Regional High School in Holden,
MA. She currently attends and competes with Paula Zawalich Dance Academy
and has also performed with Dance Prism and Ballet Arts Worcester. She
has trained in the genres of Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical,
Hip Hop, Modern, Acro, and Pointe. This past summer, Julia also attended Urbanity's Summer Intensive and could not have asked for a more amazing experience. She loved meeting all of the talented artists, was honored to have the opportunity to perform at the Boston
Contemporary Dance Festival, and is hoping to be able to participate in the intensive in the future!
Shayna Reed

Shayna Reed is from Needham MA, where she danced at the Charles River Ballet Academy under the direction of Emily Hrones Umland. At CRBA she spent 10 years honing her classical ballet training in the Vagonova technique with Emily Hrones Umland , Erika Lambe-Holland and Kristin Beckwith. In 2010 Shayna began her exploration of modern dance by participating in the Mark Morris Pre-professional Summer Intensive. Shayna fell deeply in love with contemporary dance and the next year she began taking classes at Urbanity. Shayna has also studied Irish dance for 11 years with the Sullivan School of Irish dance. She currently competes as an Open Championship dancer and has even gotten the opportunity to compete at the World Championships of Irish Dance in 2009. Shayna is also as science nerd and hopes to study genetics and biochemistry in college next year.
Dani Robbins

Dani Robbins is thrilled to be a part of the Urbanity family this year! She began her dance training at the age of two at Dawn’s School of Dance in Northborough, Ma, where she since then has become inspired by the modern dance program. She has competed at many regional and national competitions, earning a regional “Miss Starquest” title in 2012. Dani’s passion for dance led her to seek additional opportunities such as dancing with Dance Company Worcester for two seasons and classes at studios such as Broadway Dance Center and Ballet Arts Worcester. She is most recently proud to have taken part in Urbanity’s Summer Dance Intensive, where she performed in the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival. This year the 17-year-old is a junior at Algonquin Regional High school, where she is highly involved in student government, the music program, and is the president and founder of the yoga club.
Taylor Robinson

Taylor Camri Robinson was born and raised in Boston and is a senior at New Mission High School this year. She began taking dance classes at the age of 3 and hasn’t been able to stay away from the studio since. Taylor began dancing at OrigiNation Cultural Arts Center in Roxbury, continued training at the Gold School in Brockton, and is now a member of Boston Youth Moves Dance Program at Jeannette Neill Dance Studio. Her training includes ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip-hop, African calypso, and now beginning her journey with contemporary.
